Top Five Mistakes I Have Made #Blogging and #LinkedMoms Chat
In honor of my three year anniversary blogging and my guesting/ hosting night (Wednesday on #LinkedMoms) with my good friend Margarita @downshiftingpos, I thought it time to reflect. Tomorrow I will be chatting about the art of blog writing. I came to this adventure three years ago, as a stay at home Mom, hoping to bridge stay at home and work at home again. I was, in my previous life an award-winning newspaper reporter. I led teams to big awards on big topics, mostly hard news. I wrote about train wrecks, murders, massage parlors that were fronts for other things, kids getting mauled by pit bulls and covered my share…

Three Mouseketeers meet the Sandwich Generation
My brother and Me. The day he walked me down the aisle. The sibling relationship can be challenging when your role changes to become caregiver to an aging parent. This is one of the many topics that are covered on the Comfort Life web site. We called ourselves the three mouseketeers. My Mom. My Brother. Me. We were always three strands of a braid. We fought, motivated, took care of and and looked out for, each other. Very early on, a piece of our family portrait went missing. You know how trees, when pruned of a broken limb, curl outwards in a different pattern? That was our family tree. We studied…

Cooking With Kids: More Babycakes Cake Pops
Well here it is Thursday again and one more recipe for kids. Now, I know we’ve done these before, but it’s bake sale season and I couldn’t resist. Honestly there is no limit to the varieties of cake pops you can make. I start with my amazing Babycakes cake pop machine and from there it’s just a matter of knowing the tricks to make them pretty. So here is a lovely batch we made for the bake sale. I have learned that the cake pops have to be partly frozen before you ice them or put the sticks in and we have also learned that serving them in batches is…

Wordless Wednesday: Long Weekend Travel–Bubble-licious
We finally got away. It has been a difficult year as my readers know and so when the chance to visit Niagara Falls came up, well I jumped. Not literally. You know what I mean. Fun weekend away meant water slides and reconnecting as a family and disconnecting the devices and phones for a brief time. This was much needed. Time away from all the stresses. Water for my child, with sensory processing disorder, is a huge comfort and a calming tool. She would stay in the wave pool all day, or stand under the giant bucket that dumps water on the crowd below for hours if she could. The…
