Alabama Experiences – Five Things I Can’t Wait to Do #IHeartHSV
I’m heading to Alabama in the morning. It’s my first time in this state. So, I am stoked to visit one of the southern states that is new to me. While attending TBEX Travel Bloggers Exchange conference I look forward to sharing several Alabama experiences that are new to me. Unique Alabama experiences: When you attend TBEX in any of their numerous locations one of the biggest benefits of the conference is the amazing Travel Media Familiarization Tours. Bloggers, influencers, and journalists apply to be considered to attend the various activities and trips offered. When Margarita Ibbott and I both saw space camp mentioned here we knew we had to…

Canadian Bloggers and a Linky from #BBNYC #SweetSuite2015 #WordlessWednesday
I didn’t have a chance to share this one yet on Instagram or anywhere else. This shot is one of my favourites from Sweet Suite at Blogger Bash New York City earlier this month. Three Canadian bloggers taking a break from networking and meeting with all the brands. It was a great event, with so many great sponsors I look forward to sharing with you soon. This is one of my dearest friends, Margarita Ibbott, @downshiftingpro and the other half of @linkedmoms. I am of course in the middle and the lovely Katrina Thom of @TOTSFamily is on the end. There were actually several Canadian bloggers at the conference, old…

29 Lessons Learned at Mom 2.0 #mom2summit
I’m back! I’m back. Just got back from Mom 2 Summit and need to share some amazing things with you. But, you know that saying: Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. Yeah, well I call BS. Just kidding. Sort of. Mom 2.0 has become one of my favourite social media conferences. Social media conferences or blogging conferences can be an excellent business tool for so many reasons. In the last few years I have been to many. But here’s one of my favourites. Let me tell you why. Did you know social media conferences are often a great chance to learn and elevate your brand? And…

Fat Matt’s Rib Shack – Interesting Atlanta Restaurants
It was our last night in Atlanta, Georgia after a great blogging conference last year in May when my roomies and I decided we hadn’t seen anything much of the city. That’s the problem with conferences in great cities. Sometimes you rarely have time to set foot out the door. So we determined to go shopping and hit a local restaurant, something that screamed Atlanta, Georgia. Conference food, while occasionally incredible, is also often either truly unhealthy, or dainty or overly sweet. While I loved the conference and got a ton of takeaways from it, my sweet tooth was aching from all the lemonade and adorable little sugary confections we…

My Blissdom Conference Experience – Why Blissdom Makes Me a Better Person #BlissdomCa
This post about my latest Blossom Conference experience has taken me forever to wrangle. It’s been hiding in some nook or cranny of my brain and just sort of waiting for me to get it straight. I thought about leaving it there. But my brain gets full and every now and then it needs a purge. So this is my Blissdom Conference experience purge. Wait, that just sounded wrong. I am a Blissdom Conference veteran. ( Because I am old and I have been writing for a million years. LOL) Two weeks ago I took part in my third Blissdom conference. Blissdom Conference Canada is one of the only Canadian…

The Hundred-Foot Journey Review – A Sumptuous Must See Summer Movie
The Hundred-Foot Journey is a real delight. This movie will steal your hearts and make you want to take your own parents to see the lovely story. Charlotte Le Bon, Helen Mirren and Manish Dayal in The Hundred-Foot Journey also starring Om Puri Last month I had the chance to preview the sweet, sensuous, film The Hundred-Foot Journey when I was in San Jose, California. It’s always a treat to see a film at the Blogher conference, but this one was unique and especially well told. The Hundred-Foot Journey is a story of culture and food, passion and love set against the backdrop of the magnificent countryside in the south…

Five Things That Make Blogher Unique
They tell me I am a veteran because this will be my third tour of Blogher. I don’t really feel like a veteran, because the word makes me feel kind of old and I am definitely not that. (Cough) Anyways, as I head off to my third Blogher conference I wanted to share a few things I have learned about this epic conference experience. Each conference is precious and they all have their own merits and strengths. Type A was my first ever. Blissdom Canada is always inspiring and special. Mom 2.0 was a great experience for me this May and I will return to that one next year again…

Four Reasons I am Attending Mompreneur Conference
This weekend I am heading to the Mompreneur conference in Toronto. As you all know this is not my first conference. I attend about 6 social media workshops and conferences throughout the year. But this one is different. First of all, it’s a business focus. In particular, a women in business focus. Why is that important? Simply put, I am a business. And I am a woman. I run a social media strategy and marketing business in addition to the health blogging and marketing that I do here at Thrifty Momma’s Tips. Business has grown and I know full well the power and importance in networking. I also know that’s…

I Didn’t Know I Was a Health Blogger until…
A funny thing happened on the way to my first rodeo – or my first trip to Blogher. I was signing up last minute as I do, because life is busy, when all the schedules started coming and they were addressed to this health and fitness track blogger. Health Blogger? Fitness blogger? Now, I’ve been blogging a good three years easily. And I can tell you categorically that I have not once thought of myself as a health blogger. I am, at times, all over the map here. I know it. I like a lot of things and I like to stretch myself as well. I talk adoption, special needs,…
