    Ayurvedic Teas from Tetley – #TetleyFindYourBalance #Giveaway

    November 25, 2016 / 105 Comments

Ayurvedic teas from Tetley satisfy my tea cravings while helping to balance mind and body. It’s the only thing I love as much as coffee. If I’m being honest, I might even love it more. These Ayurvedic teas from Tetley are a great addition to my tea routine and collection, because I can enjoy them and at the same time help holistically improve my health. In short, I feel good about drinking tea.   Ayurvedic Teas – Based in 5,000 Year Old Wisdom Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old system of holistic knowledge which teaches that balancing the mind, body, and spirit is essential for holistic well-being. If I am being totally…

Little Turkeys Penne With Cheese #GayleaMom

    May 29, 2015 / 30 Comments

I hate to tell you this. Maybe it’s just my kids. Maybe it’s just my house. But my littles used to eat amazingly well. They were rockstars at vegetables and dinner and lunch. I rarely worried. Then they hit double digits, ten and up, and they developed sudden fussiness. It’s infuriating! I make a great dinner and they say – “Um, could I please just make a peanut butter sandwich?” Or “Too spicy!” My one child exists on peanut butter and pizza. Not together of course. Occasionally I stumble upon a recipe the kids love that keeps us all happy at dinner. This year I have also experimented with a…

My New Fiesta Dinnerware in Slate and a #Giveaway ARV $150

    May 26, 2015 / 289 Comments

Fiesta Dishes are the sexiest dishes I have ever owned. Not exaggerating. Not one little bit. Take a look at that rich colour! Slate is one of the newest shades in the Fiesta Dinnerware lineup this year and I love it. It’s sophisticated and attractive and these dishes are hard working too. Remember when I moved into my new house and I grumbled last year many times over that I couldn’t find the right dinnerware? I shared my frustrating search on Instagram. We hunted high and low. I frequented all kinds of stores looking for something that was safe for my family. Searching for dishes shouldn’t be so hard. I…

One of my Favourite Dishes: Chicken Piccata Recipe

    April 16, 2015 / 1 Comment

One of my favourite dishes ever to order when we go out is this: chicken piccata. I love the flavour combinations of capers and lemon and wine with chicken served on a bed of noodles. Of course there is always just a tiny hint of olive oil in the mix to make this dish, and the chicken, super moist and succulent. I wish I had a dish of it handy right now actually. This, and chicken masala, are two chicken dishes I could exist on. No question, chicken is a staple in many family homes at dinner time. It is versatile and fairly inexpensive. Plus it really absorbs spices and…

Family Favourite Cheesy Stuffed Pasta #GayLeaMom

    January 23, 2015 / 6 Comments

Cheesy stuffed pasta I love manicotti and I love cannelloni too. I remember making these both as a teenager. I still love a tasty cheesy pasta dish and so does my family. So sometimes we combine the two ideas of cannelloni and manicotti and make our own version of cheesy stuffed pasta with a little help from Nordica cottage cheese. The ingredients aren’t expensive and this should make enough for the entire family, and then some. When we made this scrumptious and nutritious dinner last week, we actually made enough for two nights. The kids ended up taking some for lunch at school and so did my husband. I am…
