We wish you happiness and love this week. Trust this girl to find heart-shaped yogurt raisins in a package of raisins we purchased this week. Anyways, have a lovely week and a great March break too, if you are heading into a break week.

Breakfast can be one of the least exciting meals of the day. Let’s face it, after a long night’s sleep, or even a short night’s sleep, my creative breakfast making skills are often tapped out. Or perhaps, they are just slow to wake. Regardless, Kellogg’s often comes to the rescue. My husband, the self appointed healthy eating conscience of the house, has always been a great fan of All – Bran products. We frequently try to get our oldest child to eat All – Bran and sometimes it works. She loves All – Bran bars by Kellogg’s, but for the…

This Family Day I felt like making a delicious treat I’ve had on my radar for awhile now. These chocolatey Cheerios bars looked so amazing months ago when I first spied them on the Life Made Delicious site, that I couldn’t wait. But we never really had the time, or the right ingredients until the other day. Now, I modified these just a little. The original version is a yummy Chocolate Cheerios Hearts for Valentine’s Day, but honestly we’ve had enough hearts for the time being and I just wanted something I could make with the fabulous Peanut Butter Cheerios…

I spied this one awhile ago on Alexandria Durrell’s Facebook page as a picture and thought it was perfect for Valentine’s Day here. Quick, simple to make and tasty too. She has some amazing treats on her blog today and they are much prettier than mine. If you don’t know Alexandria @clippo you should, she’s pretty amazing. Her posts on adoption are some of my favourites. This is her Valentine’s Day roundup of simple treats for kids. Anyways these are mine. Or were mine. They were well received and now all gone. Here is the low down on how to do…

Well, we are very big Cheerios eaters here. It’s true. My family loves every variation of Cheerios and has for years, from first food to my husband’s only choice for maintaining his strict ninja training regimen (TEEHee!) Joking a bit, but honestly he’s fitness mad and he will only eat Cheerios. And I like to mock his ninja training while pursuing my own yoga training and weight lifting. We all love trying each new flavour of this tried and true staple in our kitchen. Anywho when I heard wind of this new peanut butter flavour offered for a limited time…

Is there anyone on the planet that likes peeling potatoes? I don’t think so. Thank goodness for Cavendish From the Farm potatoes taking the work out of dinner. My kids and I love to cook. These days, when the weather is frigid and my time is at a premium I love to make soups and stews and healthy delicious meals that last for a couple of nights. Comfort food that warms you right up and wards off the chilly temperatures while boosting your body with vitamins. Potatoes are a great source of vitamins and I grew up eating potatoes with…

Probiotics have been in the news a lot this past two years so I have updated this post to include a bit more information. Align Probiotic is one of the options on the market that claims to support digestive health. This post is my personal experience with the product. My loyal readers here know that I have some health issues, mainly digestive, directly related to Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s Disease is an inflammatory bowel disorder that effects the digestive tract the entire way through. How to manage life with Crohn’s Disease is a whole other post. It flares at any time…

TURKEY stuffing pot pie is a recipe I’ve had my eyes on for weeks. Yesterday we decided to give it a try. At one point somebody sent a flyer around with the usual Dempster’s promotions in it and I found this recipe for Turkey Stuffing Pot Pie. I thought it looked so yummy that I had to make it. The ingredients and instructions are perfect for tweens who like to help cook and Payton was eager to help. We ended up with two versions. The Turkey Stuffing Pot Pie can be served in individual ramekins so everyone has their own…

Part of the London crew – Cyn Gagen, Wanda Lynne Young, Me (Paula Schuck) and the fabulous hostess Margarita Ibbott Take four friends, an elaborate but manageable dinner party plan, a heavy dose of twitter, a dash of wine paired well with a great new chicken dish and marinate. What do you end up with ? – a bit of magic. Honestly when Margarita Ibbott, my charming and talented friend who boasts the nicest kitchen of all the people I know, asked me to join her for a #winewithchieken dinner party recently I was giddy. We four haven’t been in…

Every Mom – or Dad – knows lunchbox letdown is a big deal when you are a kid. So how do you avoid the lunchbox coming back home from school completely full at end of day? Well, here, at the Schuck casa, we are huge fans of protein, fruit and vegetables in lunches and snacks. We try to eat healthy and give our kids good options for meals. School lunches have always been a challenge. And I think that’s the case for pretty much every parent alive. So once a week our kids get hot lunch and that saves me…
