Many of my happy childhood travel memories were set in, or around, Wasaga Beach. My Mom drove us to Wasaga Beach every year, until my brother and I were in high school. Our summers were spent making memories together in Collingwood and Wasaga. We were Three Musketeers, and we lived for those summer adventures. Now, decades later, I still treasure those times, even while building my own lasting family memories with my kids and my husband. This past Family Day, just like the one in 2016, we packed up our skis and gear and drove to Lakes of Wasaga. Our Family Ski…

I am a spokesperson for Playtex Sport and as such I have been compensated. This is my opinion and my story and it is truthful. Raising fierce girls is a privilege and a duty. One I am grateful for, most days. Girls are change agents. They are keepers of the future, dreamers, teachers, doctors, explorers, scientists and athletes. When we raise girls we change the world together. Unfortunately for girl athletes, barriers often stand in the way of success. That’s why I love that Playtex Sport is working hard at breaking barriers for girls with their Playtex Play On Canada Grant Program. Did you know 72% of…

A European vacation can be a wonderful experience. Everybody should have the chance to visit and explore Europe, if only for the history and culture the area boasts. Of course many of us want to do it. It’s such a romantic notion. What isn’t romantic is the price tag that can come with it. Because these sorts of trips can be so pricey, I made a list of ways that you can save money on your next European vacation. A Frugal European Vacation Don’t head over to Europe and be the world’s biggest tightwad. That won’t be enjoyable for anyone If…

Wedding cruises have become extremely popular over the past few years. Over the past few years, I have seen weddings on every cruise my family and I have been on. On the most recent Royal Caribbean cruise we took, I saw easily a dozen weddings, so I decided to do a little research. After all what could be more fun than a cruise wedding? Wedding Cruises – Romance on the High Seas People are getting out and saying their “I do’s” on the open sea more and more. I get it. It’s extremely romantic and quite unique. It’s also practical. I…

Building healthy families should be a British Columbia Health Care Priority every day of the year. This Family Day, patient advocates in BC are calling on the government to fund IVF treatment. And with good reason. BC infertility patients are currently in the minority in Canada. With four provinces funding IVF in Canada, BC patients are being left out. 1 in 6 couples in BC struggle wth infertility. Often the most effective treatment prescribed for infertility is In Vitro Fertilization. However, the cost of fertility treatments and the lack of access in numerous regions in B.C. prevent many British Columbians from…

Truth be told I was feeling a bit sad and nostalgic this Valentine’s Day. My kids are older and Valentine’s Day no longer holds childlike magic for them. My youngest daughter and I had a chat recently about her feeling too old to write out Valentine’s cards any more. BUT, then Hallmark sent a batch of their cute and fun Valentine’s Day Treasures for 2017 and I am OVER THAT entirely. Valentines gifts from Hallmark are timeless. There are cute items to suit all ages and all of your many loves. There is a gorgeous wristlet this year that is FOR…

This year, I decided 2017 would be my year of living mindfully. Mindfulness was, and still is, my own personal goal. I challenged myself to stop, take stock daily and be present. Be Mindful. So here’s where I am at one month after starting this mindfulness experiment. In fact, I thought mindfulness would be easier than this, so I am looking to build in some new relaxation and mindfulness tools to help get there. This morning, walking alone, on a beautiful winter day, it was easy to close my eyes, block out jobs, tasks, To Do Lists, and reflect on the…
