Who Makes You Smile? Teeth Whitening Makeover Contest
This is a sponsored post for Top Dentists. Who Makes You Smile? That’s a no brainer for me. My kids make me smile. The funny, quirky things they do, make me spontaneously burst into laughter. My husband occasionally is a joker. My nephew with his sweet little attempts at learning language and the way he runs from room to room. My Mom lately can make me smile too. At home, my family takes me as I am, but I am a bit more self conscious with the smiles in public. I know I am not alone and if in fact a magic wand were available for most of us, we’d probably…

Family Day Friday Finds
Hi all and Happy Family Day weekend. I know you are al doing something fabulous so wanted to get these to you fast. First and foremost – I need you to know about the Zellers Liquidation sales. The stores in London that are closing are Westmount and Masonville. Sales start now and run through June when they close and reopen as Target! Now, when I was a new mom with my oldest daughter back ten years ago, a Zellers location at Northland Mall closed and let me tell you, it was fabulous!!! I snagged all of my baby girl’s Christmas presents that year from the liquidation sale. So happy shopping…

Thursday Cooking With Kids: Linky
Welcome once again to my Thursday feature bloghop. This one is all about Cooking with Kids, or baking with your children, or generally messing around in the kitchen and having fun together making snacks, meals, food, treats, candy, dinner, or whatever great recipe you want. My kids love to cook with me. It’s an easy hands on activity. It’s fun for me too. Together time. In years gone by, we used to have other kids, neighbours, friends, kids I looked after before and after school, come to our house and one thing I noted repeatedly was that they all loved to spend time in the kitchen. Together through cooking and…

The Play is the Thing: March Break Staycations in London
The Play is the thing, in more ways than one this March Break. This year my kids and I are doing the staycation thing. We’ll be right here in London, with a band of swashbuckling pirates and a somewhat odd chocolate maker named Will Wonka. I was thrilled that thriftymommastips was chosen again in this second year of the #KinderMOM promotion with Mom Central Canada to talk about the importance of play and how we incorporate that into our daily life. This time of year we are so keen to get through the days and weeks leading upto the March break that it’s hard to think of much else. My…

Build Your Brain with Lumosity On Line Game Offer
My youngest child has diagnosed special needs. My mother has recently been diagnosed with mild dementia and/or Alzheimer’s Disease. I am the very definition of a sandwich Mom. What that means for me, is that I have had to be very proactive and in charge of building our strengths. We eat with an eye to preventing further physical and neurological health symptoms. We focus our brains on building pathways and maintaining functioning ones. So for instance, resveratrol, from grapes and antioxidants from berries and Vitamin E are huge around here right now. Because I know they protect the brain from harm. For my daughter, we have always sought out games…

Bliss Explained #writing #BlissdomCa
In the fall I attended Blissdom Canada. It was a conference I was fortunate to attend given that I didn’t intend to go originally. I stumbled upon a sell off ticket while attending She’s Connected, another fabulous blogging conference for digital women. I really can’t say enough about either one of the conferences. Both distinct and both worthwhile. But for me, Blissdom Canada represented a huge commitment. A leap of faith, an investment in me and a vote to keep moving forward. A turning point. The summer of 2011 had been a challenging one. My mother deteriorated rapidly in the summer and my brother and I were gobsmacked when she…

$100 Flash Giveaway and $100 #IronKids Vitamins
Hey there and Happy Weekend! I am so excited to share this giveaway with my readers. I love this product. I love the vitamins – both IronKids and Adult Essentials and I am really pleased to have been chosen as Adult Essentials brand ambassador with Shes Connected and Adult Essentials. There has been some chit chat and noise lately about brand ambassadors and their authenticity. I have to tell you that if you know me at all, you know that I don’t tweet or sing the praises of any item, brand or product I don’t believe in. If I wouldn’t eat it or share it with my children, then I…

If it’s Thursday..A Valentine’s Cooking With Kids #Bloghop
Well, I know you are all dying to know what we cooked or baked together this week, so without any further introduction here it is. Oh don’t get all healthy on me. It’s Valentine’s so we decided to make treats and give them out to the volunteers and friends that we see at SARI therapeutic horseback riding program every week. We only ate a *cough* couple hundred ourselves on the way to and from the horses. It is a long ride you know. Anyways, nothing much kids love more than cooking and making candy. This one is easy peasy. I have multiple great Bulk Barn candy and lollipop plastic molds…
