WillLand Outdoors Backpacks That Bring It #BTS

    August 31, 2016 /

Whether it’s school or travel there’s always a reason to have a good quality backpack at the ready. I am thrilled this year to have WillLand Outdoors backpacks for the kids as they return to school, and as we embark on our fall and winter travels. My oldest daughter started grade nine last year with a super fun anime style backpack that she bought at the beach with her babysitting money. It was adorable. BUT…and we all saw this coming…it broke before Halloween. It was fun and cute, but cutesy isn’t always what you need when you lug massive math and science textbooks back and forth five days a week.…

Fall Home Essentials for a Healthy Start #ChurchandDwight

    August 30, 2016 /

Back to school time is here which means it’s also almost fall. I’m sure by now you have thought of the notebooks and backpacks and back to school supplies. But there are a few other things I like to stock now too. Things are about to get crazy, so it’s time to prepare your family and your home with a few Fall Home Essentials. Kid’s schedules start to get nuts right about now which means the Mom and Dad Taxi is about to be overrun with requests. Busy, plus cold and flu season, plus extra laundry due to the extracurriculars and the dropping temperatures equals time to stock up on…

Make Back to School Rock with Monster Headphones #BTS

    August 26, 2016 /

It’s the most musical time of the year. Kidding. Moms and Dads might feel like dancing but tweens and teens, probably not so much. But this year my girls felt like dancing when these Monster headphones arrived for Back to School season here at my house. These beauties landed in my office when the kids were at camp and I was super excited to let them pick which ones they each wanted when they returned. Post contains affiliate links as a service to readers. I receive a small commission via qualifying purchases made.  Remarkably they both opted for the opposite ones that I would have chosen for them. My older daughter wanted the…

    August 23, 2016 /

Are your kids excited about going back to school? Are you hopping around the house not too subtly singing: It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year? Whether they are thrilled or not, here are some great back to school crafts to get them in the mood for back to school! Get Them Geared Up Back to school can be a happy time for many people. School Routine – Getting Back into the Habit for Back to School

    August 8, 2016 /

A school routine is so important for children when they’re up at at ’em every day to learn. It’s hard for a child to fully absorb anything if they’re tired, and we all know how much children need structure. Chances are, structure has been in short supply over the summer, and that’s okay. It’s the summer, after all. However, as school approaches, it’s best to start getting the kids – even the older ones – back into a school routine, so they’re prepared when school starts. School Routine – Ways to Get Back Into the Groove As school approaches, getting back into the groove becomes more and more important, especially…

Remember high school? Well, I do. Let’s just say I recall eating extremely poorly in high school. I was too TEENAGER to pack a lunch of any substance at all really so I would pop over to a variety store and grab something fast. Bad..teenager…boy.. I know it. So now that I am the proud owner of a teenager, I am experiencing many small flashback moments. That first day of high school for her was like deja vu for me. And then there’s the lunch stuff. I am very very fortunate my kids are decent at packing their lunches. Oh there have been some small issues over the years. Like…

8 Cool Cucumber Lunch Ideas #BTS

    September 20, 2015 /

Cucumber lunch ideas are simple and healthy. Cucumbers can be so refreshing and easy to snack on. Plus they are affordable. That’s one reason I never mind adding these to my grocery list. In water, salads or on their own cucumbers are a great snack. But what about for lunch? Cucumber lunch ideas are fun and simple, just as you might expect. Here are a few of my favourites. Are you back in the swing of things at school? Is the house quieter? Has everyone adjusted to the new routine? That’s all great, and I hope that it went smoothly for you. That one piece of back to school and…

School Bus Coloring Page For Back To School #BTS

    September 7, 2015 /

There’s one short day left here before we are back to school. That saddens me a bit. I like the summer months and the great weather that comes with July and August. I guess it will be good to have some order established again. But really day camps did that here and, for the most part, day camps kept the kids really engaged and interested. Anyways, whether you love or loathe back to school time, don’t forget to maintain an upbeat and calm attitude for the kids. That helps a lot. When it comes to transitions, some kids need a lot more help than others. Coloring can help. So here’s…

Back to School Word Search #BTS

    August 20, 2015 /

Now I know some of us are torn about back to school and whether it’s a good thing or not. I mean on the one hand summer is ending and the weather is about to take a dive into single digits in the future again. That makes this Mom want to cry. But, on the other hand, the kids will get to see their friends again and that should make them happy. At least I hope that makes them happy. Then there’s the return to a typical routine – Fall brings a different rhythm to life – that’s for sure. What side of the fence do you fall on? Are…
