Our Stay at St Augustine Tryp Hotel by Wyndham #ad #StAugustine

    November 10, 2017 /

On the final stop of our girl’s getaway trip to Florida we headed to St. Augustine. None of the four of us had ever set foot in St. Augustine so we were excited to see the city. We were also tired. The St Augustine Tryp Hotel didn’t disappoint. It was a lovely, clean, newer space. Tryp is a brand owned by Wyndham and it is affordable and family friendly. There are numerous locations of Tryp by…

San Juan – A Caribbean Beauty Rich In History #IFWTWA

    April 25, 2017 /

San Juan is one of the can’t miss areas of the Caribbean that anyone traveling to the area should incorporate into their travels. Located between the Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico shares some prime Caribbean real estate, and its capital, San Juan is a show-stopping destination. San Juan, Puerto Rico – Two Sides of One Amazing Coin When we visited the Puerto Rican capital for the first time, I didn’t know what to expect. Puerto Rico, in general, had been on my travel bucket list for five years or so. I figured that since it was an excursion stop on our cruise, it would be nice for…

Conversations With My Canadian Kids About The US Election Outcome

    November 9, 2016 /

It started this morning when my youngest got a text from a friend that stated: “The World is Ending.” “Mom, what does this mean?” “Well,” I said, “I believe she’s referring to the US election outcome.” Picture a giant question mark hanging between us. “Donald Trump won last night. It was close.” I think she said “No Way” or something to that effect and we ate breakfast in our home, in a suburb in Ontario, Canada. I told the news to my eldest daughter before she left for high school. Because I wanted her to hear it from me first. Throughout the campaign there were a lot of strange rumours that germinated…

Captain Hiram’s Resort in Sebastian, Florida

    June 24, 2016 /

Captain Hiram’s Resort is a quaint, quirky, comfortable little slice of the tropics in Indian River County, Florida. This unassuming beach resort is nestled into a tiny town called Sebastian, in Indian River County not far from Vero Beach. Drawing its flavour from Key West, and the colourful  islands of the Caribbean, Captain Hiram’s Resort is a sweet spot to stay and a bit of a secret, tucked away as it is, providing gorgeous views along the Treasure Coast and Sebastian Inlet, Indian River Estuary and Lagoon. Where is Captain Hiram’s? Captain Hiram’s Resort and Marina is a bit hidden, back off US Highway 1, Sebastian, Florida, roughly 13 miles from…

7 Scottsdale Arizona Facts You Probably Don’t Know #Travel

    June 2, 2015 /

My first ever visit to Arizona wowed me. Sure, I was there for Mom 2.0 conference, but nonetheless it was one of the nicest areas I have ever seen. Conference or no. I spent a few days in Scottsdale which was not even close to enough time to see what needs to be seen, or enjoy everything that Scottsdale has to offer. I plan to return with my family as soon as time permits and the travel gods and stars line up accordingly. In the mean time here are a few lesser known facts about Scottsdale, Arizona. If you want to read about Mom 2.0 here is that post 29…

Who doesn’t love Florida? I have been a few times and every single visit I see something new, or find some new city or spot that I would love to return to.
