The Year of Clarity and Positivity
What are your plans and goals this year? Lately, my daughters and some of my friends have been talking about plans for 2020, the year of clarity. 2020 vision equals clarity. Get it? I really like that metaphor for the new year and the new decade. Perhaps, this decade will be one of clarity. One daughter has a goal to drink more water and frankly that’s clearly a goal I am all about. I think that’s a great ongoing goal for me, but I am already doing well there, so it’s not really my resolution. That same daughter, who has anxiety disorder, has a goal to be less hard on…

What’s Your Word of the Year for 2018?
What’s your word of the year? Every year for the last 6 years in a row I have chosen a word or phrase to guide my personal and professional attitude for the year. This has often been a really positive proactive experience for me. The year I chose Grow, I grew. The year I chose productivity I was productive. And so on. My word of the year is my philosophy or vision. I was astonished actually when I went back through my files this week and discovered I have been doing this for longer than I thought. In fact, I have chosen to do this since 2012. My first ever…

Common Sight Words Printable – Kindergarten to Grade One
If your children are about to start school, or are working towards entering grade one soon then this post is for you. Sight words are the most frequently printed and written words in the English language. They are generally simple words, ranging from Little to TO, to Down, THE, and of course AND. There are several of these sight words and the sooner children grasp and recognize them the easier it is to read. I think I mentioned this before here once or twice. My younger daughter had some trouble figuring out reading. The decoding didn’t come easy for her and the processing part just made her frustrated. That was…

What’s in a Word? You May Not Call Me Mommy Blogger
I apologize in advance for this small rant of mine. It is a little thing. An issue that is just nagging at the back of my brain like a itch begging for a scratch and so I clearly have to scratch it today, right now. This itch is a bit about me, but more so about business and professionalism and the spaces in which we use words to define us and label us. See right now, this itchy thing is threatening to become a full blown rash and I swear I know full well that is TMI and way more than you needed to know dear reader, but I can’t.…

I Found My Word of the Year For 2015
I found my word for 2015 in centergy class, where I do yoga and pilates moves and strive to get fit. I could care less if that sounds cliche. It’s the truth. I have been searching for a word to help me give a focus to this year. I choose one every year. But this year I have been stuck. I loved the word Travel and wanted to make that my word BUT it seems so dependent on many other things. Travel depends on the economy, the number of holidays my husband is able to take, the children’s schedules, and the income here at my business. While I will strive…
