Parkbridge Lakes of Wasaga Resorts is perfect for any time of the year, and their ski chalets are absolutely gorgeous. Flying solo. It’s a terrifying thought for many moms. The thought of our kids home alone with no adult supervision is frightening, but it has to be done at some point. At a certain age, we parents have to put enough trust in our kids to allow them to go it alone for short periods. But when is flying solo an appropriate option? Flying Solo Requires Responsibility and Trust Knowing when it’s time to let the kids stay at home a lone is a pure judgement call. It relies on many factors including how responsible your children are, how…

Multi-generational travel can be wonderful. Enjoying life long memories with everyone in the family from grandparents down to grandchildren is something that not every family gets to do. Hello there!! February is almost done, which is outrageous really! I mean two months of 2016 are done already. Sometimes the days go way too fast for me here. Anyways, I started this series way back at the end of 2015 because I checked my Spam folder and found a selection of hilarious and odd blog comments. I thought the oddball spammy comments were too comical to let go. And out of that came That’s So Random series. This is the third edition of That’s So Random oddball funny blog comments. Part 1 was here – Oddball Blog Comments and…

Every year for the last 7 or so my husband and youngest daughter have attended Monster Jam together. It’s kind of their thing. I am usually busy working or running our other daughter to her rehearsals. But, this weekend the timing worked out between rehearsals and we all were able to see Monster Jam at Budweiser Gardens in London. The show is well worth the money and it’s very entertaining to say the least. Zombie got the action started with the first category of judging. Zombie is a monster truck with brains on the roof and Zombie arms. He performs to…

March is almost here. It’s a bit of an inspirational month as the seasons begin to switch over, don’t you think? Well, at least that’s how I see it. March brings Easter and eventually spring and March break of course. There are many reasons to hope for a lovely spring and summer after the colder temperatures have left. What’s your favourite Hope saying? Do you have one? I like the 24th – “The birds of hope are everywhere. Listen to them sing.” and also “Hope is grief’s best music.” I believe that and know it to be true. Hope is…

About six months ago my neighbour introduced us to the idea of essential oils. I had, until that point, really resisted the concept. Essential oils can be expensive. So can the gadgets you need to dispense them. So I held off awhile but the girls kept visiting the neighbour’s house and singing the praises of essential oils. So we bought a trial package of DoTerra Oils and gave them a shot. Then we bought a diffuser. And then because one child had one we got another diffuser to be even steven. Last week the Vividay Oil Diffuser arrived and I…

Peanut Butter Cupcakes are moist and delicious and really great treats for kids. My kids are peanut butter junkies, especially the youngest one. She could live entirely on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and the occasional pizza too. I prefer my peanut butter in something sweet like these perfectly sweet Peanut Butter Cupcakes. Or delicious peanut butter cups. Those make me happy too. Maybe even Peanut Butter Fudge. But Peanut Butter and jelly or jam….well that’s a pass for me. Do You Have a Sweet Tooth? If you are like me and have a sweet tooth at all then you…

These days road tripping is more popular than ever. If you don’t really want to do the sleep in a tent on the ground kind of camping that many are comfortable with, then you might give some though to buying or renting an RV. There are several things to take into consideration when you buy an RV. RVs come in several varieties and sizes, have different features, and are designed for different things. Some of these recreational vehicles are equipped with everything you need to take your family on the road and live for weeks inside them. Others are not…

This year I am more than looking forward to using my extra day! I’m talking about Leap Year of course. Leap Year only comes once every four years so you should take advantage of it! Now normally if I had an extra day, I would totally use it to work. I would. Just telling it as it is. But in 2015 I became a skier and I embrace winter now because it means more chances to ski downhill and go tubing too. I am also conscious of my word of the year that I have chosen to build my personal…
