Clearwater Marine Aquarium has been on my bucket list forever. When my kids were small we read a series of true stories about animals overcoming adversity. Knut was one we fell hard for and so was Winter’s Tale – How One Little Dolphin Learned to Swim Again. Our kids are both adopted and they’ve had some unique challenges in life. Knut is a polar bear raised by a foster human. My kids get that. As a baby dolphin, Winter lost her tail after getting caught in a crab trap. Rescued by Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Winter had to learn to swim again.…

Merry Christmas to everyone here who ever struggled with infertility, or knows someone close to them who had difficulty building a family. The holiday season can be challenging for parents in waiting. But, this season we have many reasons to celebrate in Ontario. This year Conceivable Dreams families and infertility patients are celebrating the second anniversary of the Ontario Fertility Program. Last year, our first year of the program seemed like such a monumental occasion. After all, first birthdays are a developmental milestone as any parent knows. But this year, in 2017, on December 21st we mark our second birthday!!…

Merry Christmas! With the snow on the ground, its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas finally. There are several pretty gift tag printables here on the site, and on Pinterest too, should you need any to decorate your gifts this season. These silver and gold Christmas gift tags are bound to look gorgeous on any of the presents you have to give this season. Are you a theme decorator at Christmas? Blue and white? Red and Green? Monochromatic perhaps? That’s my default. Off white and gold monochromatic shades are where I typically go with Christmas. I just prefer…

Are you wrapping your gifts already? Then it’s time for the embellishments like these vintage old Christmas gift tags and bookmarks. You know what makes a gift really pop underneath the tree? The tags, bookmarks, ribbons, bows and cute little notes that make the gifts look so much cheerier. Those are my favourites, especially because it’s easy to find great examples of cute Christmas tags and bookmarks all over some of my favourite blogs. I know my Vintage Gift Tags from years ago do well this time of year. Everyone downloads and prints these ones out. So I figured you…

Holiday snacking is something everyone does. I don’t know about you, but I am stupid busy right now which means my time to prepare nutritious meals and snacks has vanished entirely. The good news though is that healthy snacking doesn’t have to be hard. I’ve found a snack that is perfect for travel, and for busy days running around during the holiday season. Slammers are my go to favourite right now. They are marketed for kids and they are great for in school lunches. But they are also amazing for road trips and holiday travel. This month we received a…

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is about to hit the theatre, and we can barely contain our excitement! I am a big Star Wars fan, especially since the new movies featuring kickbutt females have arrived. In fact we were having this conversation the other day at our breakfast table and my daughter stated there have always been kickbutt females in Star Wars movies. Might have to agree with her. Anyways, this month we will be showing up at the theatre to see this one for certain! Nothing hits the spot like a themed treat to satisfy a Star Wars craving.…

From the moment they arrive, your kids become your number-one priority. We all know it, and there’s nothing wrong with that — but it sometimes causes you to neglect yourself. Here’s the thing: Taking a break and treating yourself is absolutely necessary for a healthy body and mind. Moms need to remember to take care of themselves — and yes, sometimes even spoil themselves — so they can properly take care of their children. BOTOX COSMETIC® treatments here in London, Ontario (or another treatment at the medical spa) are sometimes all the R&R you need to look and feel rejuvenated.…

There’s something awesome and childlike about building a snowman that first snowfall every year. Hopefully by December you have each had the chance to experience a snowfall in your area. Unless of course you live in one of the southern States or countries. By December each year we often have a fair bit of snow. That translates into snowmen and snowballs and snow forts and all kinds of creative snow sculptures too! Why not extend that idea to include snowman treats as well? 17 Snowman Treats I have been sharing some fun and easy treats to make with kids…

Ready to use your voice? Ready to be a fertility advocate? Are you one of the 1 in 6 in British Columbia struggling to conceive? Do you want to help? Then I have good news for you. The IVF4BC infertility patient advocacy group has some thoughts on how to become a fertility advocate. There’s an art to advocating effectively. Using your voice to build a conversation with politicians and policy makers is the start of the process. But there’s a dramatic difference between jumping on a soapbox to preach or shout at someone, and sharing a story passionately and supporting…
