    Earls #Ldnont Blogger Tweetup

Last week I had the opportunity to attend a blogger event and tweetup at Earls in London. Located on Wellington Road, not too far from Highway 401 Earls was known to me by reputation only prior to this evening event. I had heard from several friends and a former pilates instructor that Earls had good food and provided a lovely dining experience. I was anxious to see it for myself. When we arrived, we learned from our server and Chef Brandon that the Earls chain has a history in the Western provinces and began in Alberta. There are now seven…

Three Simple Steps to #TreatsforToys #Christmas

There’s nothing we love more than baking together, but we haven’t done much of that lately. My kitchen renovation left things absolutely beautiful here, but because we are getting ready to sell I have been reluctant to touch too much, or break anything, or mess my pretty new backsplash up. So, we let the baking slide. Happily this week we jumped right back in with Kelloggs. Kelloggs is asking everyone to take three simple steps for kids this Christmas. Baking a simple Rice Krispies treat and sculpting it into a toy will give you the opportunity to help a child…

    #WerthersCaramel Popcorn Soul Surfer Party

Remember that tasty candied popcorn you used to have as a kid? Now imagine a grownup sophisticated version of that. That’s exactly what Werther’s Caramel popcorn is.  There are a few flavours I can’t resist. Caramel anything tops the list. My kids, my family, my friends _ all love and go nuts for popcorn. Put them together and magic happens. I was a wee bit skeptical that Werther’s Original creamy rich caramel taste would combine well with popcorn. But it does. Amazingly well. So I was happy to share a Mommy Party sponsored by Werther’s Original Caramel with family and friends…

World Food Day #MeaningfulMeals Twitter Party RSVP

How many nights a week do you sit down together as a family to share dinner? 1? 2? 3? Between swimming lessons and my daughter’s acting rehearsals, my workouts, horseback riding, work and whew – martial arts too – it’s getting harder for our family to carve out dinner time together.  My kids lead busy lives and we do too. We used to be so good at this sitting down together as a family when the kids were tiny, as babies, toddlers and preschoolers, we managed 4-5 nights a week. I was a stay at home mom and my husband…

Dempster’s Thins and Sandwich Personality #giveaway.

What makes a sandwich great? In a word? Personality.  Everyone likes it just a little bit different. Take my family for instance. Four of us and all four different distinct personalities, so not so surprising that we like our sandwiches to be unique. I like mine messy. With cheese. Melted. And every so often I like it spicy. But I don’t care for a massive amount of calories and I am no fan of thick bread. Know what I mean? I like my bread thin. So, when I  heard about Dempster’s Thins I knew I had to try them. Dempster’s…

Back to School Means Back to Your Regularly Scheduled Workout Brought to You by Vega Sport #Review

August was a little crazy – and frankly the tiniest bit lazy here too. Oh work was plentiful and my kids were very busy. But working out slid by the wayside, unless you call chasing my brother’s cute kids around the beach in Southampton a work out. Anyways, this morning back to school for this mom meant back to my regularly scheduled workout. Because 40, my friends, is not kind to your butt, nor is blogging for that matter, and forget metabolism. Once you hit 40 your metabolism begins a slow geriatric crawl up hill. Every pound you gain seems…

    Kellogg’s New Products and a #Giveaway

Kellogg’s Vector chewy protein bars are the tastiest snack bars I’ve ever eaten. If you love peanuts and have no allergies these new bars from Kellogg’s are absolutely delicious. With 11 grams of protein in each bar and 5 grams of fibre I happily shared these with my kids. Now, obviously these cannot be taken to schools with children who have nut allergies. But at home here or on a family outing these are a great little snack option. I wouldn’t want the kids eating too many of them because they have 170 calories per bar. But to me this…

Nasty Stains #Resolvetip and a Chance to Win $5,000

You know that rhyme? The old one you grew up with – sugar and spice and everything nice and that’s what girls are made of. Snakes and snails and puppy dog tails and so on and so forth…well, whoever made that cutesy little rhyme clearly never met my girl Ainsley. She is grass and dirt, bloody knees, hugs, exploding science experiments and sometimes bug guts and peanut butter stains all rolled into one sweet little girl package. That’s life with my dolly who I once wrote about in a piece the Globe and Mail dubbed Watch out for My Tornado…
