Remarkably the other day this was the conversation in my home. Husband: I did not like the new cereal. Me: It was on sale. I thought we might try it. Husband: You can’t beat Cheerio’s. Me: (thinking um, next time I stick you with the grocery shopping detail) Fine, I’ll try to find you some later. Then out of the clear blue a package of Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerio’s and Oatmeal Crisp arrived. Not even two hours after this conversation. For a brief moment I truly thought my home was bugged. Husband is a fitness junkie these days and refuses…

This summer my youngest daughter has had endless amounts of dentistry. Well, not endless I guess, because it is finally done. Thank goodness for that. But it seemed to take a long time, especially since she is not a patient child and, although not a huge eater, needs to eat what she wants when she wants it. So an impulsive eater and one that is tiny in size. I am always worried with her about whether she gets enough food. Anyways, for a week of this summer, at separate intervals, she has been only able to eat soft food. So…

Well, here it is Saturday night, so I apologize, but my Friday finds are now my weekend finds. Anyways this weekend in London there is no reason to leave the city. Home County Folk Festival is on. And on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. the John Labatt Centre is hosting a huge Yoga Shack charity event for Heart and Stroke Foundation. Superstore has Tax Free event now. Shoppers Drug Mart has cash your points in. Yes, that’s how I spent my afternoon. $100 in points can vanish fast there. Too fast. No Frills has my T-Discs on for Tassimo. Time…

I am so incredibly excited about the new movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green. The themes apparent within the movie, make me so happy to be a consumer. Special needs, adoption, the environment, family, infertility. How amazing! I can’t wait to see the screening at Blogher 12. You can see a screening too. I am giving away 1 family pass. So one winner will get a pass for four members of their family. Jennifer Garner stars in this story about a couple told they cannot have kids and the magical child that joins their family. (Can you see why…

Three simple ingredients. I have been super excited to get my hands on a recipe that is simple and easy to make but also turns out to be a delicious fudge. Fudge can be a hard one to make. It is temperamental at times. The wrong temperature for setting it seems like a big issue sometimes. Butter Condensed milk Brown sugar 1/2 lb of butter 2 cups of brown sugar 1can condensed milk. Put it all in a microwaveable bowl and microwave, so butter melts. Stirring in between. Then blend with the blender on medium for several minutes. Place…

The other day one of my followers asked on Twitter for some ideas on how to teach her children about the Olympics. I started to tweet her a pile of thoughts on this topic, but then realized I had several thoughts and most of these tips are ones we have done before, so hopefully your kids will find one or two they like also. With less than two weeks left to go before the Olympics London 2012 start, you have plenty of time to get these ideas together and plan some fun while learning as well. The London Olympics run…

It’s been a long time since my babies were babies. They grow so fast. My girls are now much too old for baby bottles, but I know a thing or two about fussy babies and children who were colicky. And as an adoptive parent I am an expert on bottle feeding. When my girls were wee ones there were plastic bottles only, and ones that were really not so healthy as we learned much later. I so wish we had known more then about BPA and PVC options. We switched to straight glass bottles with my youngest daughter as soon…
