Dog Sledding Near Mont Tremblant on a wintery March day can bring out the child in anyone. Snug as a bug in a rug. We are racing through the snowy upper Laurentians in Quebec, about 45 minutes from Mont Tremblant resort. It is peaceful and calm and the mountains are majestic as the snow continues to fall. Three of us are on this one dog sled lurching out of the starting gate and my older daughter rides safely behind us with a driver of her own. Content. This is the definition of contentment and peace and it makes you almost…

Easter Word Search for KIDS! I already have one here for kids and adults alike and they are pretty popular. So I figured it was time for another printable word game. Happy Easter my friends! I thought it would be fun to offer a few printables for Easter! I am partial to word searches so I thought perhaps you might all enjoy an Easter word search for kids for a bit of fun! Plus it’s free so, hello. Don’t forget to print out these lunchbox jokes too for Easter. My one daughter loves these and I loved them as a child…

It’s the last day of the year, a year that sped by lightning fast, but then again don’t they all? This is how we spent December 31 snorkelling with stingrays and nurse sharks in Belize. It still is etched on our collective hearts as the best way to spend the last day of the year. If You Go, Consider This: In hindsight I wished that I had bought a GoPro HERO4 SILVER before we took our first ever cruise. I had no idea we’d need one out in the ocean, flying along in a jam-packed speedboat on our way to…

Spring weather inspires creativity. I have noticed just this week, in the first days of spring, that I am inspired to start new projects. I have also pitched old contacts new ideas and so on. That makes me feel positive and happy about the change of seasons. Are you noticing the same? Maybe it’s the thinner coats and clothes, but I feel somehow lighter and able to see all the possible wonderful opportunities to create. I am sure my kids are feeling the same in some ways. Lately when I knock on my older daughter’s door I see the sewing…

There’s something fun about decorating Easter eggs every year. The process makes me feel like a kid again. These Creative and Fun Easter Egg Decorating Ideas are so cute and clever! I wish I had thought of them first! Easter Egg Decorating Ideas I love the part of Easter where kids and parents alike decorate Easter eggs. It’s always been fun to me. I don’t care what the colours are, or, how fancy the eggs turn out, it’s simply fun. My Mom used to decorate eggs with us every year so the process reminds me of her and it…

These aren’t the best pictures I have ever taken, but they are some of my favourites from the last week. It was spring break here and so I spent my time with two of the little people I love most in the universe. My husband had to work. So did I, but I played hookie during the day a bit and went skiing every afternoon with my kids. Ainsley did ski camp at a local ski hill and together we all improved in our confidence and ability on skis. We only just learned this month. I wrote about learning to…

Mont Tremblant is stunningly beautiful and if you thought it was just for skiers and snowboarders, well you’d be wrong. Tremblant is for families of all ages and you can easily find things to do there every season. This post is all about the various exciting Mont Tremblant activities you can do, often together as a family, and sometimes separately due to age restrictions. I left a little piece of myself in Tremblant. Actually I think we all might have left something of ourselves there. After learning to ski (something I never thought I would do in my 40s) and…

Well, if you already follow me on Instagram then you probably know what we’ve been up to. This past weekend we headed to Tremblant by plane, which was super fast and efficient by the way. Thanks very much Porter Airlines. Much to my surprise and enjoyment my kids began speaking French really well from the time we arrived at the airport. Our weekend was amazing and such a great chance to play together as a family. But more about that tomorrow. Stay tuned for the recap of the entire beautiful experience. I think this is another one that lends itself beautifully…

This is a guest post by contributor Tabitha Pye This past Saturday I had the great pleasure to take my kids to see Monster Jam 2015 in London at Budweiser Gardens and it was a blast! It was loud, it was exciting, it was tense and I actually “sort of” understood what was going on. Things started off a little slow and I wasn’t sure what was going on, but things quickly escalated and got interesting as the newest member to the Canadian team overshot the mark and flipped his truck! After that the show was just as exciting as…

Some stories rattle around in my head longer than others. Some stories touch your heart immediately but they take time to express. I have a few more of those beautiful meaningful experiences from my time travelling in Colombia late last year. I spent close to a week travelling in Colombia with World Vision Canada in September 2014. The experience was life changing and motivating and moving and so very big. I have already told many of the stories of the Colombian children, the workers and the places we visited, but in the last few weeks I have been travelling back…
