There are many ways to get kids involved in learning. An All About Me Book can be a great way to get them to work through some early identity issues. Things like who is in my family and how old am I are very important, especially when starting preschool or kindergarten. This Sports All About Me Book is intended to help. With my kids sometimes when they are struggling I ask them – “Hey who is on your team? ” “Mom is.” And then they list the people on their team. Sometimes it’s grudgingly, but often by the end of…

Are you working through the winter blahs? Here are some of my favourite winter crafts and recipes to help boost your mood this month. With every passing day we get that much closer to Valentine’s Day and Family Day here in Ontario too. That means time to celebrate just a little. I love having that short little break in February. It’s a pick me up and a chance to ski or go have fun outdoors with my family. Whether you are indoors or braving the chilly weather and the snow, there’s a lot to do this February. Stuck on where…

Happy December 1st!! Here is the December colouring sheet. That marks 12 colouring sheets in total here now so you should have a full year if you want to sit down and pull all the months of the calendar year together. How is it possible that it is December already? This year flew by on the one hand, but it was a challenging one for so many people I know. That’s been true here too for sure. Too many things to stress over and too much negativity and uncertainty too in the world right now. If that stresses you out too, then…

Word games can be such a great way to build early literacy skills with children. This simple pirate treasure crossword is fun and easy for kids who are just learning to read and write. They need a basic understanding of alphabet, spelling and printing to figure out this adorable pirate treasure crossword, but they don’t really need to be fluent readers yet. So here’s a cute Pirate Treasure Crossword for your kids. If you homeschool, or have a daycare facility you can help with the printing if need be. Argh Matey, I thought this year it could be fun to…

Happy August! One more month of summer holidays here. So I thought it was time to celebrate that with an August colouring page printable. How are you spending August? This month I will send one daughter off to Pioneer Camp Ontario and my older girl will keep working hard at her job. Meanwhile that’s basically what her Dad and I will also be doing. SO, this month will be a working one around here. With a few breaks built in and weekends spent enjoying the pool. Can’t even begin to think about Back to School yet. But I recognize it…

This post was sponsored by Banana Boat. My opinion is all my own and it is also truthful. Active Families need sunscreen that is as strong as they are. My family is on the go all year long. We choose to be busy doing a wide range of sports indoors and out. We lead an active lifestyle and work hard at that every day. It’s important to me that we are active together and modelling good habits that will carry into the future when our kids are adults raising their own families. Healthy activity daily leads to better physical and mental…

My favourite month of the year is here. July makes me happy, just like this cute July Colouring Page printable. I love the warmer temperatures and frankly it’s the month of my birthday and my oldest girl’s birthday. In fact, I think that alone makes it worth celebrating. Add all the other stuff in there like the beach, or the cottage, and the lazy summer days by the pool. Put that all together and clearly that’s a recipe for the best month of the year. So happy July to you and welcome to the summer months as well. Thought it…

So far this year I have been sharing a coloring page printable each month. BUT, I almost forgot June entirely. That’s right so here I am making up for it late with my June Coloring Page printable just for you. OH my goodness how did this month get away from me? Well, that’s a rhetorical one I guess. I know fully how this crazy month of June sped fast. It’s a wicked month when your kids are in school, isn’t it? Those last few weeks are a mad rush of assignments, tests, exams and field trips. Not to mention all…

Have you ever been whale watching? That’s one of my travel bucket list items and I just can’t seem to shake the feeling that I really must do this some day soon. Timing is critical of course. You have to choose a destination and a time when whales are active. I suppose BC is probably a consistent bet that way. But I am typically in BC for conferences and not for leisure. Then again there’s always Quebec and the Maritimes out East. I’d definitely love to spend more time there. For now this whale colouring page will do. whale_colouring_page_adult_printable One…
