Interactive play is something I encourage with every child in my life. I’m a big fan of toys that foster creativity, and it’s important to me that I do my best to ensure that the kids in my family get those as gifts from me. Toys that allow kids to be creative encourage brain development and allow them to build their own fun, and that’s key to a young mind. Some of my favourite toys to gift are Hexbugs. Hexbug toys make great gifts for the kids in my extended family for birthdays, Christmas, and other special occasions. These days,…

This week I am in Florida again. Just passing through on our way to a cruise. But I am always thrilled to visit Florida, even when it’s a short stay, or a conference. Florida is a dependable travel destination. And there’s always something new and exciting to discover. This year, I thought I’d ask several of my favourite Canadian travel bloggers what their picks are for Top Florida Hotspots in 2018. As a tourist destination, despite the ups and downs of the Canadian dollar, and the political climate, Florida is still a tourist mecca with much to offer. It’s still…

Happy New Year! I sincerely hope that this year is kind to you and that there are many positive things that happen for you and your family. This year has been a tough one for some I know. But the beauty of a new year is that it brings with it a clean slate so to speak. A chance to open the blinds and let all the positivity and light and happiness into your home and your heart. That’s my philosophy anyways. With that in mind, I wanted to share this cute cheery Happy New Year January Colouring Page…

Math was never my favourite subject. I manage though. I mean it’s unavoidable when you run your own business. Eventually you need to tally up invoices and things like that. So math and Christmas together? Why? Well maybe, because it’s a good way to make math fun even for those who hate math. So little puzzles and games like this Christmas Math Game Printable are just the thing for little people who love or hate math. Either way this works. Add these adorable images which each represent a number and you have your answer. To print this adorable Christmas math…

OMG the countdown is on. This month flies by way too fast. Soon the kids are done school and we have no grand plans yet. Feeling kind of disorganized this year actually. I can’t decide how we are spending the week or two after Christmas and New Year’s. Regardless of what we do after the big event I know we will take some time together as a family to relax. It is so needed this year. What are your big plans this season? I know the days between Christmas and New Year’s Eve can be crazy with kids all hyped…

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is about to hit the theatre, and we can barely contain our excitement! I am a big Star Wars fan, especially since the new movies featuring kickbutt females have arrived. In fact we were having this conversation the other day at our breakfast table and my daughter stated there have always been kickbutt females in Star Wars movies. Might have to agree with her. Anyways, this month we will be showing up at the theatre to see this one for certain! Nothing hits the spot like a themed treat to satisfy a Star Wars craving.…

Is there anything cuter than a reindeer at Christmas? Well, maybe children opening their presents and absorbing all that wonderment. Reindeer cookies and crafts are fun for all ages. Even if you aren’t the savviest baker on the planet, chances are you can make several of these adorable festive reindeer treats. When I was a child my favourite Christmas movie was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Seeing them on TV or at the movies is fun when you are small. Many times we have seen them at African Lion Safari and other zoo, amusement park areas. Somehow reindeer in real…

Weeknight dinners are sometimes a thorn in my side. Oh, I enjoy cooking sometimes, don’t get me wrong. The problem is that although I love to cook, my schedule generally makes cooking more a hassle than a culinary experience. And I am the first to admit that I don’t always naturally know what goes together in terms of spices and flavours. In fact I do better with a recipe in front of me. Kind of like my youngest daughter. We both love to cook or bake together but we fail at meal planning often and we really are not super…

St. Petersburg Clearwater is one of those places that has something for everyone. Maybe a tourist destination doesn’t want to hear words like dependable or safe. But for me St. Petersburg Clearwater is dependable and safe and a wonderful vacation choice every time. That matters when spending valuable vacation dollars and time. St. Petersburg Clearwater delivers the magic you want, when you need an escape. You know what I mean, right? You head away on a vacation and a piece of you hopes you made the right choice. Prayers go up to the weather gods and goddesses and you dream…
