For years, I have actually wanted to get my hands on a ROKU Express. I’ve wondered often if my Netflix subscription would stream better via the ROKU and I have even gone so far as to source some, but just didn’t pull the trigger at the electronics store. I received product in exchange for consideration here. A Better Viewing Experience This month, I finally got a ROKU Express and now I can see what the fuss was about. We are loving the access to extra channels that we simply haven’t had here before in my home. For weeks, my one…

In May of this year my oldest daughter and I will travel to Greece for the first time ever. We are beyond stoked. It is her last year of high school and she literally just a few days ago got accepted into university. Her first choice for the subject she wants! Can’t wait to celebrate that in Greece. Learn All About Greece Now While my children are way too old for this cute Greece coloring and writing book, yours might just be exactly the right age for it. I love getting kids psyched about travel and geography and learning all…

I had a super reluctant reader. It was kind of devastating to watch her struggle with learning to read because reading and writing are my favourite things and it’s also how I make a living. But, my one girl did not do well. Her processing speed is slower due to a few things such as FASD (fetal alcohol spectrum disorder) and ADHD symptoms of hyperactivity and so she struggled decoding language and making it work. She has several diagnoses and school can be harder for her than it is for some other kids. So instead of literally and figuratively beating…

This Scavenger Hunt post contains affiliate links as a service to my readers. I make a small commission via qualifying links. When my kids were both small we often did fun things like go outside to do a random scavenger hunt. I would write out a list of things, sometimes numbers or letters that I wanted them to find and we would go for a walk through our neighbourhood. Tricks and Simple Activities to Keep Kids Busy That’s just one of the things that we used to do when they were young. We also built igloos in the backyard, raced…

The world just seems a little bit bigger in Wyoming somehow. Maybe because the topaz skies are some of the bluest you’ll ever see, the wide open spaces stretch out for miles and the combined effect makes the plains seem endless. So What’s There to See in a Place like This? I’ve been fortunate to be able to visit Wyoming twice in the last two years on media trips and have seen so much more of the equality state than I ever expected to. I was a guest of Visit Wyoming and also Austin Adventures two separate times. Wyoming’s vast…

We were guests of Mobile, New Orleans, Coastal Mississippi and Gulf Shores while on this amazing 12 day girl’s trip. Meals, flights, accommodations and more were paid for by the tourism partners listed here. This is my honest opinion on the Southern Foods below. Whether it’s the Acadian influence, the flourishing port cities bringing easy access to imported spices, or the jubilant approach to cooking that makes the difference, there’s something unique and thoroughly magnificent about Southern Foods. Whatever the reason for the impressive range of dishes all throughout the Gulf Coast, the flavours of the south will knock your…

These adorable fishing jokes for kids are a cute way to show your kids you are thinking about them when they are at school, or camp. There’s nothing quite as useful as comic content for kids when it comes to socializing. What’s the first thing that your niece and nephew tell you at every single family function? “Hello Auntie Paula or Uncle Jim” and then they launch right into the jokes, right? I love this about my youngest niece and second youngest nephew. It totally reminds me of my own childhood because my brother used to love jokes. I was…
