Saving Money and Energy: Four Simple Tips
This is a sponsored post on behalf of E.ON. It is extremely relevant to my readers in the UK. There are tips throughout about ways to save energy applicable to all my readers regardless of their location. Winter is here to stay and with it comes potentially high heat and energy bills. Shorter days mean more lights and less access to outdoor activity means more time spent surfing Youtube, or parked on a sofa playing video games. It’s easy to see how lights stay on longer. You fall into a pattern of staying warm and cocooning for the cold months and then you open your mail and get…

Posterjack Custom Art #TMMGG2013 #giveaway
There is nothing lovelier than a personalized piece of custom art for Christmas. Posterjack.ca offers multiple different ways to customize any photo you can think of. I have reviewed Posterjack products often here and I have hosted a couple of giveaways for Posterjack this year. I really treasure the piece we made earlier this year with Posterjack custom canvas. It was this beautiful canvas print piece here of my girls. A rare moment of them cuddling together and being angelic. You can build a poster, a canvas print, metal print, gallery box, acrylic piece, or framed photo and turn it into something really unique and memorable. I loved how this…

Fix the Pain of Sensitive Teeth #ColgateSensitive
My teeth are my nemesis. I have never been happy with my teeth. First, as a tween I felt I had buck teeth. (I didn’t) Then I felt my teeth weren’t straight enough. Then I got braces and that fixed that problem. But my teeth have never been super strong, or white enough or just perfectly lovely as some smiles are prone to be. I have more cavities than I’d like despite brushing and flossing regularly but my enamel is something that for whatever reason is just not strong enough. My health issues have been well documented here. I am open about the fact that I have Crohn’s Disease and…

Creating Families magazine is on the move. Creating Families, a well known resource for many people struggling with infertility, is going digital. Starting next month the well known magazine which was published for 10 years as the Canadian Journal of Infertility Awareness before becoming Creating Families in 2005, will be available on line in a mobile friendly flip book format. Creating Families will still contain expert physician columns, research articles and emotional patient stories and features. It will still be dedicated to upholding the Infertility Awareness Association of Canada’s mandate: supporting infertility patients and the support groups they need. “We want to grow our readership further with this…

Max & Ruby in Nutcracker Suite #Christmas #Ldnont
It’s pretty easy to get the kids in the mood for the festive season with so many fantastic family shows on the stage this time of year. We were fortunate to get family passes to see Max & Ruby this year in the Nutcracker Suite at Centennial Hall. Although my kids have outgrown Nickleodeon, I was excited to take them to see this show because of the Nutcracker Suite element. Max & Ruby were staples in my kid’s viewing schedule (LOL) for several years when they were preschoolers. Max’s stubborn streak and his tunnel vision still makes us laugh. He reminds me of several preschoolers and toddlers I have known…

Sperm Donor Comedy Fertile Ground: Delivery Man
I was invited to see the Chicago Preview of Delivery Man, the movie featuring Vince Vaughn. while I was in Chicago for a blogging conference recently. These are my impressions of the movie. I mean is anyone ever really ready for parenthood? This movie Delivery Man takes that notion and turns it into comedy with an infertility theme too. Vince Vaughn delivers the funny in every movie he does. Delivery Man is no exception. For obvious reasons, given the themes of adoption and infertility that I often tackle here on my blog Thrifty Mommas Tips, I was really curious to see where Delivery Man would go in terms of plot.…

Three Simple Steps to #TreatsforToys #Christmas
There’s nothing we love more than baking together, but we haven’t done much of that lately. My kitchen renovation left things absolutely beautiful here, but because we are getting ready to sell I have been reluctant to touch too much, or break anything, or mess my pretty new backsplash up. So, we let the baking slide. Happily this week we jumped right back in with Kelloggs. Kelloggs is asking everyone to take three simple steps for kids this Christmas. Baking a simple Rice Krispies treat and sculpting it into a toy will give you the opportunity to help a child who might not have many toys under the tree this…
