Are Your Getting Enough Fruits and Veggies? Printable Fruit and Vegetable Journal

    March 19, 2015 /

Healthy eating and healthy living is a constant goal here. We each exercise a lot and we are a very active family in my opinion. In fact my kids are involved in many sports and we try to balance that out by building in our own sports and fitness goals and activities too. One area where we all need help though is eating. We strive to include enough fruits and vegetables daily, but don’t always get there.   Eating well can be challenging for any family. There is always room for improvement. I have a brutal sweet tooth that is hard to get a handle on. But this year so…

Five Easy Gluten Free Lunch Ideas

    March 9, 2015 /

Gluten free eating is on the grow. Did you know that? In fact over the coming decade it is rumoured that 25 per cent of the population might be eating gluten free. Chances are good, that even if you don’t eat gluten free right now, that someone you know eats gluten free. I recently ran a gluten free roundup here and was shocked at the response to the post. That shows me that many of my readers are gluten free. In fact I was gluten free for several years in my twenties because my Crohn’s Disease was probably at its worst ever back then. I was very limited with what…

25 Best New Year’s Eve Recipes

    December 28, 2014 /

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and whether you are a naturally gifted entertainer or not (yes there is such a thing) there’s a recipe for pretty much everyone here in this list of 25 best New Year’s Eve recipes. The key, I think, is to have a variety of options and not to stress out over entertaining. The food may be one of the biggest parts of your evening and your entertaining, but don’t forget guests are really there to visit with you. Years from now they will remember spending the night enjoying the company of good friends. They probably won’t remember what they ate. If you’re…

    Five Children’s Fall Essentials

    August 29, 2014 /

This is a post by My Contributor Bonnie Way, mom of three girls under six years old, living in BC. September can feel more like a new year than January, as a friend of mine recently mentioned. Summer is over and for many kids (and even parents!), school is starting again. It is a good time to catch sales on new clothes, school supplies, and other fall essentials. Here is what Iím making sure I have on hand as this new season begins. 1. Cups and bowls and spoons. As kids start preschool and school, it seems like there are never enough eating utensils in the house. I like the…

    Male Infertility Infographic #abhc4ivf #abpoli

    June 15, 2014 /

One in six couples of reproductive age will experience infertility. Infertility can  be a devastating diagnosis, financially, emotionally and physically. Male infertility makes up about 40 % of all infertility cases. But somehow male infertility seems to have less awareness than female infertility. In fact the split between the genders and infertility rates is close to equal at 40 % each. There are many causes of infertility from cancer to Crohn’s Disease. A prior sexually transmitted disease can mean you might be at high risk for infertility. There are a few myths and facts here I wanted to share about male factor infertility. Whether infertility is caused by male or…

    Healthy Living: Align Probiotic Review

    January 24, 2013 /

Probiotics have been in the news a lot this past two years so I have updated this post to include a bit more information. Align Probiotic is one of the options on the market that claims to support digestive health. This post is my personal experience with the product. My loyal readers here know that I have some health issues, mainly digestive, directly related to Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s Disease is an inflammatory bowel disorder that effects the digestive tract the entire way through. How to manage life with Crohn’s Disease is a whole other post. It flares at any time and disappears and then reappears somewhere else. In fact, even…
