Happy Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt for Families
This season, I am hunting down easy activities that remind us to find gratitude and give thanks. This Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt is a fun way to find some gratitude and involve the entire family in the process. What are Your Thankful For? Finding Gratitude in the every day and celebrating that can be hard work. I have been working on this during the year and I can tell you some days I succeed and others not so much. This year has tested most of us, I think. Typically, I start my day with a gratitude exercise, but to be very honest that is sometimes forgotten when I am dragging myself…

Keep Them Entertained and Learning Right now, with a return to school still a bit uncertain and summer in full glow, you might be hunting for ways to engage the kids in educational activities. I don’t know about your children, but mine have always loved hands on kinaesthetic learning. It’s simply how my kids learn best. They are hands on and visual as well. Auditory is lower down on the list for my kids anyways. So, if you want them to retain something, often that requires…

Why Not Spend Spring Skiing in Vermont?
For years, I have made no secret of my love for winter and summer too. Spring and fall were distant cousins at best. A couple of years ago though, I started to wonder what if we simply stretched winter out a little longer right into spring. Spring skiing! We are guests of Smugglers’ Notch while visiting which means we receive accommodations and lift tickets as well as activities. Spring Break Oh I know, spring break is often synonymous with heading south and we are technically heading south. Just not to the sunny south where the weather is warm. This year, we are on our way to Smugglers’ Notch to do…

Wyoming’s South Gap Lakes Trail Outdoor Adventures
Jagged rocks of South Gap Lakes Trail are slick with Wyoming’s first snow of the winter. This morning this Ontario Canada girl left Vee Bar Guest Ranch near Laramie where the scenery was all golden light, faint autumn breezes and babbling brooks only to find winter here. Wintery Welcome I came to explore Wyoming and had zero intentions of finding snow. My city in southern Ontario nets more than enough snow from December through end of March that I need not hunt more down. And yet here in the mountains of Medicine Bow National Forest finding the first snow of the season is bizarrely up-lifting. It somehow warms my heart…

I received product for consideration. Post contains affiliate links as a service to my readers. Are you SO over the DIY slime phase? Is it all over your house? Is it contained in a dozen old small margarine tubs in your laundry room? OH I feel your pain. So, why not replace it with a new sensory toy? On the one hand sensory toys are useful for so many reasons and so many kids. But slime has had its day. I think we can all agree on that. But, it is also useful in calming and soothing sensory seeking children and youth. A New and Buzzworthy Sensory Toy If you…
