Spider Force Web Blaster is great for children who love active play. So when this fun new Spiderman themed toy arrived here I pictured her using it many times and having a great adventure creating scenarios where she is a superhero like Spiderman or Super Girl. She’s very into the superheroes. No surprises here she loves the new Spider Force Web Blaster. Friday night fun around here took on a whole new dynamic once we had kids. When they were tiny Friday was blur of feeding, dressing, chasing and diapering the kids. Now we drop the diapering portion of that, but the…

There is something about Spring time and Easter that brings to mind fresh starts. The windows have finally been thrown open here after a long winter and we are enjoying being able to take walks, riding the bikes, and being able to explore our new yard. This year we will be starting new Easter traditions in our new home. There’s something exciting about that also. One tradition I look forward to every year is the Easter Egg Hunt. It’s a hold over from my own childhood and it brings out the child in everyone. Treats and Toys that are Safe…

Bye Bye Winter. It’s Hurricane season. Hurricane Ainsley season that is. Spring fever has hit hard here – FINALLY. I am not complaining. It was a long snowy, cold winter and we are still not entirely free of the season. There is still frost on the rooftops here most mornings and it’s April 1st! But the first hint of spring in our area of Ontario, Canada and my kids were racing outside knocking on doors in our new neighbourhood trying to make new friends. New Nerf toys like Nerf Rebelle helped start new friendships. We moved into our new…

My kids are storytellers. Sometimes that’s good. Sometimes it leads to some confusion here at the Schuck casa. You know those moments when you go is that a real event or was that completely fictional? No matter. This is a review of a great summer vacation tool I have found to keep my girls engaged and creative. I won these Spark Story Starters one year ago and we played with them last summer a lot and we take them with us sometimes when we travel. We also pick them up randomly as I did on the weekend and use them…

TURKEY stuffing pot pie is a recipe I’ve had my eyes on for weeks. Yesterday we decided to give it a try. At one point somebody sent a flyer around with the usual Dempster’s promotions in it and I found this recipe for Turkey Stuffing Pot Pie. I thought it looked so yummy that I had to make it. The ingredients and instructions are perfect for tweens who like to help cook and Payton was eager to help. We ended up with two versions. The Turkey Stuffing Pot Pie can be served in individual ramekins so everyone has their own…

With an increasing number of kids who have sensory processing disorder or sensory issues related to brain injury, concussion or autism, there’s a lot of new knowledge about sensory play and sensory activities. We started reading up on sensory play and sensory processing disorder years ago when Ainsley was first diagnosed. Depending on whether your child is sensory seeking or sensory avoiding any one, or all of these may appeal to them. FIVE EASY SENSORY PLAY ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS Fill a sink with warm water and soap suds. Have them wash things. Toys, dolls, dishes.…

The race cars in the new Kindertoys are a big hit here Well my last #KinderMom post was all about my summer bucket list and I am happy to report that, with the exception of manicures and pedicures, my kids and I managed to cross off most of the items on our To-Do bucket list. Labour Day weekend was a whirlwind. But play doesn’t stop just because it is September and we are back to school routines, homework, Original Kids, martial arts, swimming and riding lessons. Whew! Did I really just say all of that? I am tired just typing…

Thriftymommastips decided to take her family for a holiday weekend adventure at a nearby waterpark in London, known as East Park, 1275 Hamilton Road. While the weather Saturday was lovely and the waterslides excellent the adventure was not inexpensive, so be forewarned. East Park offers many different packages and many different activities but for the holiday weekend a special family of four for $50 deal was advertised in the newspaper. The deal caught my eye and we figured we’d give the waterslides a whirl. Now it should be noted that we had no complaints and spent all day at the…
