Monster Jam 2015 at Budweiser Gardens #MyMonsterJam
This is a guest post by contributor Tabitha Pye This past Saturday I had the great pleasure to take my kids to see Monster Jam 2015 in London at Budweiser Gardens and it was a blast! It was loud, it was exciting, it was tense and I actually “sort of” understood what was going on. Things started off a little slow and I wasn’t sure what was going on, but things quickly escalated and got interesting as the newest member to the Canadian team overshot the mark and flipped his truck! After that the show was just as exciting as we all waited with baited breath to see if any…

Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour 2015 Giveaway #Ldnont
Maple Leaf Monster Jam is my youngest daughter’s favourite annual family show. Why? Because Maple Leaf Monster Jam arrives every year around March, the time of her birthday. Every year she goes with her father and sometimes the rest of us too, and we enjoy the show together. But in years gone by, several special years in a row, it was just Ainsley and Dad. A Special London Event So it’s kind of a dad and daughter date. That makes her happy and it’s kind of memorable for both of them. Together, they revel in the crazy antics of Maple Leaf Monster Jam trucks like Northern Nightmare. On those years…

Dora The Explorer Live in London #ldnont Save with this Presale CODE
Dora The Explorer Live is coming to London, Ontario soon. My kids loved Dora when they were small. I loved her because she was educational and fun. What’s not to love about your child learning another language? Plus Dora is a fun, smart, quirky girl who solves small puzzles and repeats words often so that everyone learns something from watching her. This was one of our first live shows that we ever saw, and it was also one of our first TV shows that the kids watched. In celebration of this upcoming show I wanted to share an exclusive Dora presale code with my readers so that you can get…

Disney on Ice Worlds of Fantasy #Giveaway #ldnont
It’s that time of year again!! Disney on Ice is coming here again! Alright I promise that’s the end of the rhyming for this post. Nothing makes me happier than a mid-winter break at Budweiser Gardens to see Disney On Ice. We attend almost every year and have been doing so since the girls were very small. I will never ever forget the look of awe on Payton’s face the first time I took her to see the amazing skating show. She was a bit over two years old and she was mesmerized by all the glorious activity. As magical as it is to see the skaters tell a story…

Shrek The Musical #WordlessWednesday
This past week we went to see Shrek The Musical at The Grand Theatre in London, Ontario. The Grand is a local asset to the arts scene and it is often very family friendly. Both of our girls enjoy the theatre and always have because we have always taken them to see age appropriate plays. My older daughter has of course also done the local youth theatre group in our town too. The girls have a deep appreciation and admiration and respect for theatre and the arts. In fact, they enjoy theatre as much, or maybe even more, than I do. We are super lucky in this area of Ontario to…

Fun Tour For Drama Queens and Kings: Stratford Festival Warehouse Tour #travel
Stunning hats, caps, crowns and bonnets One of the highlights of our summer was a day trip to Stratford, Ontario. Just under one hour from London, Ontario and not too far from Detroit (two and a half hours about) by car, there is a good deal to see and do in the pretty town of Stratford. This theatre town is well known for its lovely scenery, its trademark swans and world class theatrical productions. Since my children both are very dramatic and my eldest acts with Original Kids Theatre Company we were eager to explore the city. This year we did not take in a production, but we did the…

London’s Double Decker Bus Sightseeing Tour
For months, we have seen London’s Double Decker Bus Sightseeing Tour around town and thought wouldn’t that be fun to do one day. This morning, keenly aware of the passing days of summer I woke both of my kids up and told them we were once again going on a surprise adventure. (These are truly one of the best parts of parenthood.) What is London’s Double Decker Bus? I had secretly planned to take them on the Tourism London’s Double Decker Bus Sightseeing Tour. The 1969 Bristol VR leaves every day of the summer through until September 7th from Tourism London’s office. My daughters and I have both…

Storybook Gardens review
I have always loved Storybook Gardens. As a child we used to drive every summer to Storybook Gardens from Guelph Ontario, about two hours, just to visit what was then really just a small park and petting zoo. Storybook Gardens has blossomed and I still enjoy this lovely spot in the summer. I also enjoy skating with my family on the path they flood in the winter to make an ice rink. The new splash pad and the massive renovation that took place several years ago now was an excellent investment. Storybook offers interesting events occasionally and also rides. The pirate climber area and the toddler’s climber were also really smart additions…

The Other London #LDNONT
This is my TOP Ten greatest hits for the other London aka London, Ontario, my home. I have lived in several southwestern communities, small liberal artsy towns like Guelph and Kitchener, the lovely technical hub and home of Oktoberfest and I’ve grown to love them all. But London is another story. If London were a child it would be one of those kids with a face only a mother could love. It takes time to get to like this oddly backwards Conservative Reform uptight dot on the map. After almost 10 years of life in the other London I can categorically say I love you London. It was a marriage…
