    April 18, 2017 / 21 Comments

The western Caribbean is one of my favorite areas for cruise ports. With an abundance of natural beauty, friendly locals, amazing sights to take in, and endless adventures awaiting, the western Caribbean has some of the best cruise ports imaginable. I’ve put together a list of my favorite ports in the area. If you are planning a cruise of the western Caribbean be sure to take note of these ports. Western Caribbean Cruise Ports that Always Deliver My family and I have enjoyed all of these wonderful spots, some on several occasions. They rarely disappoint. Snorkelling with Stingrays and Nurse Sharks in Belize on the Last Day of the Year

    March 31, 2015 / 39 Comments

It’s the last day of the year, a year that sped by lightning fast, but then again don’t they all? This is how we spent December 31 snorkelling with stingrays and nurse sharks in Belize. It still is etched on our collective hearts as the best way to spend the last day of the year. If You Go, Consider This: In hindsight I wished that I had bought a GoPro HERO4 SILVER before we took our first ever cruise. I had no idea we’d need one out in the ocean, flying along in a jam-packed speedboat on our way to swim with nurse sharks and stingrays and sea urchins galore.…

    January 13, 2015 / 2 Comments

This was our last day of 2014. We took a chance and disembarked the cruise ship and set aside the entire day to explore Belize with a tour guide, of course. Our first stop was a small speed boat that led us out into the ocean to explore a reef together. The four of us snorkelled together. My husband loved this excursion. It was his first time snorkelling. This is Payton. my oldest daughter, getting ready to explore family travel in Belize. This is her right before she hopped in and remembered salt water stings your eyes and had a small meltdown. Back on board she found a towel, wiped…

New Feature Tuesday Travel Photo #linky – Leaving Tampa

    January 6, 2015 / 2 Comments

I don’t know if I can even put into words how much I love active family travel. We just returned from a New Year’s cruise. It was our first cruise ever and after a week at sea I am slowly getting my land legs back. My heart is still warm from the time spent with family and the many awesome excursions we did together. Swimming with stingrays on a reef just along the coast of Belize rocked. Snorkelling alongside my husband and daughters while stingrays, looking prehistoric and unfazed by our presence, swam just beneath us was something we all needed more than I can ever explain. This winter and…
