beauty products
All my favourite beauty products to keep you feeling your best. From face creams, to shaving creams and razors too. Many of these are ones I have used for years and a few of the beauty products featured here are new brands which I have fallen for fast. If you have teens as I do then you know that makeup and maintenance products have a big place in your daily routine. Good reliable beauty products stand the test of time sometimes and the evolve to sometimes become even more integrated into your style and health and wellness routine. That said they should also always support a busy lifestyle because beauty shouldn't take forever and a day to happen. Nor should it cost a ridiculous amount.

When Back to School Means Skin Breakouts: Two Chances to Win #Giveaway
Nothing screams back to school like a skin breakout. It happens every time your child, or even you, have a special event scheduled and the anticipation plus the erratic eating leading up to the event paints your skin an angry mess of acne, blackheads, pimples and stress. So what to do? From the time I was a teenager, Oxy and Phisoderm, were routine fixtures in our bathroom. Phisoderm was a great tool for daily face washing and skin maintenance as soon as I hit the teen years. Back then the packaging looked a lot different than it does now, but some things remain the same. The quality of the product…

Beauty Products for Women: Aveeno BB Cream Review
Beauty products for women were represented well at #Blogher13 this year. Skin care products for women were a highlight of the brand expo hall for me, because at least 8 out of ten posts here at thriftymommastips.com are health and wellness related. I left Chicago stoked about several new beauty products. And happily I have several items to try out and review over the coming months. This Aveeno Clear Complexion BB Cream tops my list already. I have been a fan of Aveeno products for a few years now. Their Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizing Cream is a staple of my routine because it makes my skin glow. I sometimes stray…

Tria Beauty Series – Post 7 – #Giveaway
Well, my lovelies for the past several months I have been teasing you with the promise of a grand giveaway. First I tested this Tria At Home Hair Removal Laser device out. I put it through the paces and tested the safety features. I took you through all the features. I also noted clearly that it does not hurt. It is effective, efficient and inexpensive. What’s that? You don’t believe me? Well, think it through. How much does it cost to go to the dermatologist’s office to get that hair removed? How much does electrolysis cost? Yes, that’s right, this gadget is cute, functional, safe and it saves you money.…

Tria Beauty Series – Post 6 – At Home Hair Removal
For several months now I have been posting about my Tria At Home Hair Removal Laser 4 X. Last week I finished the extended period of testing. I have to say I loved this product and will continue using it at home. It’s simple, effective and affordable (if you consider that a trip to the dermatologist’s office for laser hair removal will run hundreds). It is also safe. In fact I wrote a whole entire post about the Tria At Home Hair Removal safety features here. So this is my last post before I offer you the giveaway. My daughter has seen me using it a lot and thinks it’s…

Tria Beauty Series Post 4: At Home Hair Removal
Tria at Home Hair removal laser has been a regular part of my daily routine now for several weeks. This is post number four about the device which promises to remove hair permanently from legs, underarms and other areas of the body where unwanted hair grows. At the end of this series I get to give a device away (worth $449) and the giveaway will be open to Canada and the U.S. I have been faithfully using the Tria for several weeks, and have seen it easily integrate into the morning beauty routine here. It works best after a shower on clean skin. Lotions are barriers to the window where…

Tria Beauty Series: Post 2 Adding a Routine
This is the Tria Beauty Home Laser Hair Removal device. I wrote about Tria last week and will continue to do so to demonstrate the results the product provides. Tria Beauty is a handheld unit that gives the same results you can get in a dermatologist’s office in your own home. So last week I set the device up and was impressed with the safety features and this week I have been all about getting into a routine so that I use the laser every day and will be better equipped to see results six or seven or eight weeks from now. Actually, now that I think about it that…

Movember – #DIY Alternatives to Help Your Man Ditch His Shaving Products for Good
Movember is the time of year many Canadian men ditch their shaving products to grow their mo’s. But most guys would probably ditch these products for good if they took a closer look at the ingredients on the labels. Toxins don’t discriminate when it comes to personal care products for men or women. A report recently released by the Environmental Defence Fund, called The Manscape: The Dirt on Toxic Ingredients in Men’s Body Care Products, found ingredients with links to cancer, birth defects, sperm damage, obesity, asthma and other chronic health problems in commonly used men’s body care products like shaving cream, deodorant, shampoo and aftershave. So, how can a guy protect…

My Avon Lady: Sales Jobs Are Rarely So Rewarding
This is a sponsored post. Avon is a company I have loved from the time I was a child. As a little girl, I browsed those brochures with passion and dogeared all the pages with cute girly necklaces or bath soaps. Once in awhile someone would buy me something tiny from the brochure and I was in heaven. Avon has always been a female focused, woman friendly company and in these last ten years I have come to love it even more. When we moved to our current home I searched for an Avon lady and luckily I found one. I love the progress I have seen over the years…

When It Takes A Village – Dove #CelebrateMom
This post is part of YummyMummyClub.ca’s support of the Dove Celebrate Mom contest.I received compensation as a thank you for my participation. This post reflects my personal opinion about the information provided by the sponsors. You can nominate inspiring moms here: celebratemom.ca In many ways my family is the truth at the heart of that saying It Takes A Village To Raise A Child. It took a village to help us build a family and when we adopted our girls, both as infants, well I knew always that I would seek to find them strong role models to help guide them throughout their lives. I had many. My Mother, a single…
