First Impressions of Gatineau Quebec
This summer we took our family on the road to Gatineau Quebec in the Outaouais Region. I honestly can’t stop thinking about it. Quebec never disappoints me and I often wish we lived closer to the province. It’s truly La Belle Province for so many reasons and the perfect choice for a family vacation. So How Big is Gatineau Park? We started our visit early on a Sunday morning after driving for roughly 7 hours from our home in London, Ontario. First on the agenda was Gatineau Park. I knew Gatineau Park was massive, but I didn’t know if it was 361 square kilometres of breathtaking beauty to write home about. There were…

Five Zip lining Lessons to Live By #Travel
On a high flying family adventure at Arbraska Lafleche in Quebec two short weeks ago I had the chance to face one of my biggest fears. My fear of heights. When I turned 45 I told myself that was long enough to be afraid of anything. Zip lining is one of those big adventures that’s been on my travel bucket list for awhile now. So when we had the chance to try it together, I jumped. Literally. Zip lining with my family was one of the best, most challenging experiences we’ve had. It was fulfilling and fun and memorable and scary at times too. While facing my fear of heights I…

Ermitage Du Lac, Tremblant, Quebec
Spacious Accommodations at Mont Tremblant I wish that I had taken more pictures of the inside of our suite at Ermitage du Lac, Mont Tremblant when we stayed there earlier this year. Ermitage Du Lac was one of the biggest suites we have ever stayed in as a family. Three massive self contained bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, plus a large kitchenette and gorgeous views. Can you imagine? My kids thought they were in paradise (No arguments over who slept where and no yelling as someone hammered on a bathroom door for the other to speed it up. No, none of that because we each had our own bathrooms.)…

Dog Sledding Near Mont Tremblant
Dog Sledding Near Mont Tremblant on a wintery March day can bring out the child in anyone. Snug as a bug in a rug. We are racing through the snowy upper Laurentians in Quebec, about 45 minutes from Mont Tremblant resort. It is peaceful and calm and the mountains are majestic as the snow continues to fall. Three of us are on this one dog sled lurching out of the starting gate and my older daughter rides safely behind us with a driver of her own. Content. This is the definition of contentment and peace and it makes you almost forget how bitterly brutal the winter has been, because inside…

50 Mont Tremblant Activities #Travel
Mont Tremblant is stunningly beautiful and if you thought it was just for skiers and snowboarders, well you’d be wrong. Tremblant is for families of all ages and you can easily find things to do there every season. This post is all about the various exciting Mont Tremblant activities you can do, often together as a family, and sometimes separately due to age restrictions. I left a little piece of myself in Tremblant. Actually I think we all might have left something of ourselves there. After learning to ski (something I never thought I would do in my 40s) and then spending a couple of days recently getting acquainted with…

Can Your Family Learn to Ski in Two Days?
If you had told me even one month ago that I’d be learning to ski in the Upper Laurentians of Quebec, on Mont Tremblant, in my mid-40s I think I would have told you to stop drinking. I am a yoga girl, body flow, centergy, weights, planks – I am good at all of those. Swimming, I endure as a means of fitness, and because pools are mostly warm. But, skiing? Well, the thought never crossed my mind until last weekend when the opportunity presented itself and then I thought why doesn’t the entire family learn to ski together? Last weekend we flew to Mont Tremblant, Quebec with Porter Airlines…

Mont Tremblant Travel is Effortless with Porter – From Work to Ski in 65 minutes? #flyporter #travel #tremblant
I joke that I was born with two left feet. But I love to travel and a smart savvy tourist knows a great travel experience begins when you start off on the right foot. But sometimes it takes equal parts planning and luck to bring the magic. Our weekend family trip to Mont-Tremblant Resort was luck, planning and magic all rolled into one pretty winter family travel experience. [tweetthis]Our trip to #Tremblant was luck, planning and magic all rolled into one #travel[/tweetthis] Our trip began with a quick train ride from our house in London, a short shuttle to Billy Bishop Airport and our first ever flight on Porter Airlines.…

Family Ski Lessons #WordlessWednesday #Tremblant #Travel
Well, if you already follow me on Instagram then you probably know what we’ve been up to. This past weekend we headed to Tremblant by plane, which was super fast and efficient by the way. Thanks very much Porter Airlines. Much to my surprise and enjoyment my kids began speaking French really well from the time we arrived at the airport. Our weekend was amazing and such a great chance to play together as a family. But more about that tomorrow. Stay tuned for the recap of the entire beautiful experience. I think this is another one that lends itself beautifully to a few posts. Anyways, as it is Wednesday, this…

Our Quick 2-Day Montreal Girl’s Trip
I am the lucky mom of girls. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Girls are an amazing responsibility and also a joy to parent. They move through life with hearts wide open, sometimes needing tiny reminders to guard their emotions. They absorb experiences and breathe them forward at school, at home, and as they grow outward into the universe of possibilities. This summer our universe took us to Montreal girl’s trip. Post contains affiliate links as a service to my readers. I receive a small commission from purchases made via qualifying links. Our First Trip to Montreal This week, right before my girls abandoned me for…
