Christmas Chatterbox Activity
Remember that childhood game we used to call chatterbox? Well, once upon a time I remember when it was called something a bit different but I like the idea of a Christmas chatterbox and no matter the origin of the concept, it simply is nostalgic for me every time. This was the school playground girl’s activity at recess so many days. If we weren’t skating, playing tag or indoors helping the teacher, then we were on the yard doing this and deciding which flap to pick, waiting for it to reveal some silly truth or character. Relive Favourite Travel Memories with a Photo Canvas
The Canada – US border may still be closed but I am reminded daily of my travel adventures every time I look at my new photo canvas from Photowall. While it seems like forever since we’ve been able to travel, fly or road trip, my memories of trips we’ve taken are still fresh. This post was sponsored by Photowall, which means I received product or compensation for the content. My opinion is honest and truthful. My memories of the incredible adventures we have had over the years are still strong. Some days more than others, and occasionally during this pandemic I have needed a little more inspiration to get through…

Easy Fun Five Senses Sensory Scavenger Hunt + Printable
A sensory scavenger hunt is perfect for so many kids. Whether they are sensory seekers or avoiders, there’s a little something for any child here. Some of you by now are aware that my kids have a fair number of sensory issues. So sensory stuff here is second nature. And I am sure that you know that we love scavenger hunts. My oldest would literally still do this actually. She is the crafty kind of kid who lives to get outside exploring and then brings what she has found indoors to build something crafty or creative with it. I am always up for a walk, so that works for me.…

Fun and Free Valentine’s Scavenger Hunt
This Valentine’s Scavenger Hunt for families can get them thinking outside the box after tearing into the chocolates and treats. So, first of all Happy Valentine’s Day! I am always a little excited about this day because it brings out the child in me. That’s why, in that spirit, I thought I’d share my Valentine’s Scavenger Hunt! Celebrate Love and Friendship I can easily recall making those adorable little Valentine’s crafts at school. For instance, every year at my elementary school in Guelph we brought in old tissue boxes and made cute little boxes for our Valentine’s cards. Here’s a post you might enjoy about Valentine’s Day crafts for kids.…

How to Make an Animal Crossing Cherry Blossom Tree
My kids are a little bit obsessed with the Animal Crossing New Horizons video game. We just got Nintendo Switch Lites for both of the girls, because Coronavirus is dragging on and our spirits are lagging. Truthfully, trying hard to keep my teenagers engaged and cheery. Right? Anyways, while waiting for the Nintendo game and the controllers to show up, my one daughter decided to make an Animal Crossing Cherry Blossom Tree and a few other crafts. I…

Easy Fun Eco-Printing Craft for Youth and Up
Here’s a craft that you have probably never done before. Eco-printing is a fun way to make pretty cards and writing paper. The materials involved are simple and can mostly be found in and around your neighbourhood. My oldest daughter Payton did this one and came up with the idea then helped document the steps here. Fun Craft With Natural Materials This Eco-printing activity could be a great craft to do with older kids because it gets them off their screens and outside for a bit. Basically, you just need to go for a walk around the neighbourhood to gather leaves, petals and buds. The more colourful the better. Don’t…

My Summer Drawing Challenge for Kids
It’s a commonly known fact, in my house anyways, that I am surrounded by artistic children. I actually love their creativity. While I am creative, I am not, generally speaking, artistic. These kids can draw and paint and craft all day long. They have always been like this. Forever making, baking and creating things. Right now, as I am finishing this summer drawing challenge post, my daughter is making origami creatures nearby. That’s a good thing right now since there’s nothing much else to do to occupy their time during a pandemic. But, if someone asked me to draw a person I’d be hard pressed to do one that resembled…

Easy Colour Blocking Art Canvas To Make Now
I take absolutely no credit for this colour blocking art project. Well, maybe just a little bit of the credit. Both of my girls have been crafting a lot and doing all sorts of art projects to pass the time during the pandemic. So, I have been ordering the supplies and occasionally running out to do a curb-side no contact pickup from Michael’s or order from Amazon. So, that’s basically my role: I am the provider of supplies. Post contains affiliate links as a service to readers. I receive a small commission on purchases made via qualifying links.
